Experience
Dr. Tsai has participated in numerous projects involving two-dimensional nanomaterials,optical microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), nanophotonics, near-field optics, Raman spectroscopy, as well as the development of complex oxides and carbon-related nanomaterials. His professional experience includes serving as a research assistant at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica from 2005 to 2008; a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Photonics, National Taiwan University from 2013 to 2014; a postdoctoral researcher at the Research Center for Applied Sciences, Academia Sinica from 2014 to 2016; a postdoctoral researcher at the Berkeley Sensor & Actuator Center (BSAC), University of California, Berkeley from 2016 to 2019; an optical R&D engineer at mFluiDx, a startup supported by California Citrus Foundry, from 2017 to 2019; and a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Photonics, National Tsing Hua University from 2019 to 2020, before joining Chung Yuan Christian University where he served as Assistant Professor from 2020 to 2024 and has been Associate Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering since 2024.
