Dear Families of Incoming 2+2 Students and CYCU Colleagues:

致親愛的中原2+2新生家長與同事們:

On Monday we had the pleasure of welcoming our inaugural class of CYCU 2+2 students to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and our College of Engineering & Applied Science.

我們很榮幸在美國時間的週一下午，歡迎了第一屆的中原2+2大學生們來到威斯康辛大學密爾瓦基分校的工學院。

After many years of planning, and two years of virtual sessions, it was wonderful to finally meet each of your children and students in person.

經歷數年的籌劃與兩年的線上會議後，我們很高興終於與您們的孩子見面了。

I know how challenging it is to send off a child to a new and perhaps foreign place. This message is to let you know that your children/students are off to a great start, and were able to meet many of the faculty and advisors and staff members who will teach and support them in the next two years.

我深知將孩子們送到陌生的異國是多麼困難的挑戰。這封問候信想讓您們放心，同學們都已經安頓了，也見到了許多能夠在生活與課業上協助他們的教授、導師和學校職員們。

Your students’ success is our collective success. You can see by the large number of people who attended yesterday’s welcome session that we are all very excited that they have finally arrived on our campus. Our team will continue to work on plans to assure they have an excellent experience in and outside of the classroom.

學生們的成功也象徵我們付諸的努力有了成果。在活動照中，您能看到與會人員非常喜悅的迎接新生們來到我們的校園。我們的團隊也會持續執行既定的計畫，以確保學生們在課內與課外都能有很棒的體驗。

I close by asking you to do two things, for their continued success:

最後，為了一起在旁協助學生們，請您們協助我做以下兩件事：

  • Remind your student to reach out to their UWM faculty, academic advisor, or Taiwanese Student Association president when they need help or have a question. This assures that small issues don’t become larger problems.
    請提醒同學們，在任何有需要協助或有任何問題的時候，主動找他們的教授、導師或台灣同學會會長尋求協助。“主動的尋求協助”，能夠預防原本的小問題衍生成日後的大麻煩。
  • Invite them to engage with their fellow students from around the world, with our student organizations, and with our colleagues. It will help make UWM feel more like home more quickly.
    請鼓勵同學們與他們系上來自於世界各地的學生們、校內各種學生社團與組織，以及我們的教職員們多互動，透過這樣的互動，會讓同學們更快地覺得UWM有家的感覺。
